My Story

Born in Germany, I spent some of my childhood years in Namibia, and was educated in South Africa, where I obtained a BA Hons degree in psychology at Rhodes University, and an M.Sc. GIS at University of Cape Town.

In 1994 I joined a maritime service company, then a small privately owned company in Cape Town. Throughout the years, this company first grew substantially, and then was acquired by the Dutch listed holding company Fugro. This gave me the opportunity to grow into various roles, in various departments, in several locations around the world, and right across the global corporate ladder. I experienced several mergers and acquisitions, both as a member of staff and as a managing director.

For several years I was an associate at consultancies engaged in business transformation, change and coaching. Over the years I served on a variety of boards, ranging from international joint ventures to start-ups in the maritime and technology space. In executive level leadership roles, I explored and developed growth and transformation strategies through groundbreaking technologies. Throughout my career, coaching & mentoring and diversity & inclusion have been my passion and are a recurring theme.

Following a sabbatical I founded Navigating Leadership in 2024, a consultancy for coaching and leadership development, where I find a space to integrate my corporate leadership experience with my passion for diversity and people dynamics.

Today I live in the Netherlands with my Dutch husband and my two daughters. I love travelling near and far, and take my trail running shoes and e-reader wherever I go.

My vision is to bring out the best in people, empowering individuals and teams to reach their full potential. I aim to promote growth and inclusion by understanding the person, the context, and through personalized guidance and a positive spirit.
